Apply Now

Is Your Boiler over 15 Years Old and Non-Condensing?

As part of the Government’s ECO4 Grant Scheme/ Affordable Warmth Scheme, within a few weeks you could have an up-to-date, highly efficient heating system consisting of a new boiler and controls.

ECO4 – Makes this possible

Set up by the Government in 2013 with the aim to make UK homes more energy efficient by installing dual energy saving measures, The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) directive means that the main energy suppliers; British Gas, SSE, EDF, E-on Next and alike, are obligated to invest in these measures for householders who qualify under the ‘affordable warmth’ bracket and are in receipt of certain benefits.

ECO4 is the latest round of this Government Grant aided scheme.

Affordable Warmth Scheme

The scheme is part of the Government’s ECO (Energy Company Obligation) initiative and facilitates low-income households improving the energy efficiency of their home via a grant.

For those homeowners on qualifying benefits grants are provided for the replacements of broken central heating boiler or electric storage heaters.

The Energy Companies Obligation was introduced to help reduce energy consumption for qualifying householders who are living in fuel poverty.

Affordable Warmth Scheme funding starts in the form of a levy on everyone’s electricity bill and the money collected is directed into an ECO Fund. This money is distributed in the form of ECO Grants to accredited installation companies once they have completed the boiler or storage heater installation.

Boiler Grant Qualifying Criteria is now only relevant to the Replacement of Non – Condensing boilers which tend to be at least 15 years old. If you provide us with the manufacturer and model number, in most cases we will be able to confirm quickly, if the boiler is Non- Condensing.

The best way to see if you qualify is to click on the ‘Apply Now’ button at the top of the page and spend no more than a few seconds answering the questions.

From the answers you provide we will be able to confirm whether or not you qualify.

So you Qualify for the Grant – Next Steps

Upon qualifying for the grant, we will arrange a free survey to identify the energy efficiency of the property.

This will include inspecting the working order and age of the existing boiler, controls and discussing any existing water pressure issues you may have. We will also investigate how well insulated the property is and if accompanying insulation measures need installing.

From here we will arrange a mutually convenient time for the installation to take place.

We will clarify the boiler manufacturer and model that you qualify for but please note that in the event of you wishing to upgrade to another model/manufacturer, a contribution may be required and this would need to be paid prior to works commencing.

Also, if you qualify for a boiler replacement grant but wish to upgrade your existing boiler and tanks to e.g. a combi boiler (upgrade from a conventional boiler and tanks) this can be accomplished with a contribution for extra materials and work required.

After our technical heating survey of your property is completed, a competitive no obligation quote will be provided for this extra work.

Most installations are completed within 1 day (unless insulation measures are required) and we will explain what is involved and answer any questions you may have.
